We have her!

Here are a few pictures of Nina. We met her today at about 3:00 at the Civil Affairs Office. Of the 16 babies, she was the only one to cry the entire time. We've decided to take this as a good sign! She continued to be quite sad when we returned to the hotel and could only be consoled by holding her upright and walking or bouncing around. She was not especially interested in bottles so we ordered some congee - a loose porridge with chicken and fish. After about 2 bites, she transformed into one of the happiest babies we've ever seen and allowed us to hold her however we wanted and investigate her feet for a bit. She also had a chance to talk to her big sisters in Maine on the phone - that was especially exciting. We are getting ready to try to figure out how to get her bed for the night, so we'll write more in the morning. Love to you all!

Congratulations! Deborah (http://deborahsjournal.blogspot.com/index.html) commented on her blog about your joy, and I had to read about your journey!

We are also adopting for the 2nd time, and after two+ years of being homestudy ready and hoping, we finally get to meet our newest son tomorrow! So your joy just melds right into my own :-)

Again, congratulations and best wishes for your beautiful family!

Hannah,

Deborah Boschert told me about you, knowing I'd be interested because our 11 year old daughter Caroline is from China. (We got her when she was 6 months old.) Congratuation! I'm enjoying your pictures and you are bringing back wonderful memories for me. I'm so glad you've met Nina!
